Barbados Youth Business Trust (BYBT)

BYBT is a Non-Governmental, youth entrepreneurship development organization. It was started in October 1996 in Barbados as a registered charity by a group of local social entrepreneurs. The BYBT is mandated to help people – including the differently abled – between the ages of 18 – 35, who have good business ideas and are unable to get start up capital from the traditional lending institutions, family or friends.

The BYBT is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of Private Sector Business persons, an Executive Council and The Office of the Executive Director (ED). The BYBT’s daily business is administered through the Office of the ED. It is the center where all loan applications are received, processed, disbursed and monitored and where all the various facets of the program are conceptualized, planned, organized and coordinated.
